I'm Glen.
I run Trace Technical.
If you are preparing your first motorcycle PPE product or managing an established range, I can help with the testing, documentation and certification work.
Eleven years in the PPE industry, in various roles, is the experience I bring to it. You work directly with me.

Why I started Trace
When I worked inside test houses and certification bodies, brands would ask me for help preparing their documentation. Those organisations have to stay independent. The most I could do was hand over a blank technical file.
I started Trace so I could work through it with them. I can prepare the documentation, organise the evidence and coordinate with the people doing the testing and certification.
I want you to understand what supports your product and what still needs resolving. Your technical file belongs to you. It should be a record you can use when developing the next product or changing the one you already sell.
Where the experience comes from
Testing and leading a test team
I started in motorcycle apparel testing, then worked as a PPE technologist and led a test team. I carried out the tests and wrote the instructions used by the team. That is the experience behind how I look at a product's construction, its samples and the testing it needs.
Assessing documentation and issuing certificates
As a certification assessor, I checked whether the documents and evidence supported the product and made certification decisions. When I prepare documentation now, I know the assessment it has to go through.
Managing testing and certification projects
I also sold testing and certification services and managed projects across both. Later roles included PPE & Workwear Specialist and Head of PPE Sales. I have seen how the technical work connects with a brand's product plans and launch dates.
I have spoken at industry seminars and webinars, written technical content for certification bodies and delivered training built for individual brands and their teams.
From a first product to an established range
Before Trace, my work included planning testing and certification documentation for new motorcycle apparel ranges, and taking first-time brands through the route from their first product to a range produced every year.
I have also worked with established brands on certification projects and team training. Motorcycle protective apparel is my deepest specialism; Trace's work covers motorcycle clothing, gloves and impact protectors.
