The session
An hour with me on a call. Send the documents ahead and we go through them together. Where something needs checking against a standard or a report first, I say so and it goes in the note.
Technical Q&A
For anyone with a technical or certification question and no ongoing arrangement with Trace. Time with me on a Q&A basis, without the commitment of a retainer. We work through the question in the session, and you get a short written note of what to do next.
What you can bring
It is not one question. Bring what you have and we work through as much of it as the hour allows. These are the things people usually bring.
Which standard applies to your product, what it asks for, and what a particular clause means in practice.
What the comments on your submission mean, which ones matter, and how to answer them.
What a technical file, a declaration or the instructions for use has to say, and what is missing from the one in front of you.
Whether a change to a material or a new variant needs new testing or an updated certificate, and what to tell the body.
Whether your marketing can say what it says, read against the certificate you hold.
A technical query from a distributor, a retailer or a buyer, and what to reply.
What comes back
An hour with me on a call. Send the documents ahead and we go through them together. Where something needs checking against a standard or a report first, I say so and it goes in the note.
A short note of the answer, anything that still needs checking, and the recommended next step, sent after the session.
If the question turns out to be a project, I will say so, and you decide. If it does not need me, I will say that too.
Fees
One hour is the minimum. If the question needs longer, extra time is charged in whole hours at a lower rate, agreed before we run on.
Technical Q&A
£150
the first hour
The session and the written note. Booked and paid in advance.
Ask for an hourAdditional time
£125
per additional hour
Every hour after the first. Agreed before we run on, never added afterwards.
All fees exclude VAT. Asking for an hour books a short call first, so I can confirm the question fits an hour; the hour itself is then booked and paid. If you already hold an Advisory Retainer or Factory Support, your questions are part of it, so you do not buy this.
If the questions keep coming
The Q&A is for a question that stands on its own. If your team has a question most weeks, the Advisory Retainer covers them without counting, and Factory Support does the same for a factory. Not sure which? Ask for the hour and I will tell you.
Questions every week? Advisory Retainer
A flat fee each month for direct access to me, priority on every job, and a range that is watched and reported on.
Explore the Advisory RetainerSend me the question. Two or three sentences is plenty. If it fits an hour, I confirm a time and you send the documents ahead. If it is not an hour's work, I will say so before you pay for one.
